Announcing 'The Stories God Tells' Tour

The poet Muriel Rukeyser famously said, “The world is made of stories, not atoms.” That’s a little tongue-in-cheek, but you get the point. Stories drive everything in our world, and they are the most powerful force in our lives. Especially when we’re kids.

That’s why I wrote my debut children’s book, My Guncle and Me, and that’s why my friend and #1 New York Times bestselling author Matthew Paul Turner has written numerous children’s books including his most recent, You Will Always Belong. It’s also why Matthew and I have teamed up to visit churches across America this Summer and Fall for the “Stories God Tells” tour.

We believe the stories we choose to tell our children will shape the world they will create as grown-ups. That’s why we must be diligent in telling stories of kindness and compassion, inclusion and belonging. These are the kinds of stories that God tells!

If you work at or attend an inclusive church—or know someone who does—and you’d like to bring this conversation to your community, send an email request with all details to Olivia at assistant@jonathanmerritt.com.
