At the outset of the Coronavirus pandemic, I launched a two-week virtual "Seekers and Speakers Book Club” on Learning to Speak God from Scratch. This virtual book club ended, with more than 1,000 people participating. Here’s the good news: You can still use these materials for your own book club or small group’s study.
It's completely free and easy to participate in. There are only 4 simple steps:
1) Each participant should purchase a physical or digital copy of "Learning to Speak God from Scratch" from their favorite retailer:
Amazon* | Barnes & Noble | ChristianBook.com
(*Note: Amazon is delaying shipments of physical books.)
Encourage members to invite at least one friend to join. That's important because this will make them feel comfortable and give them a friend to have ongoing dialogue IRL.
2) Download the FREE Small Group Discussion Guide (right click and “Save As”)
3) Read the chapters for each discussion group. Pour a cup of your favorite wine or tea, and join your group for the study. You can study the entire book if you’d like, but here is an easy 6-week structure that I’ve found useful:
Session 1 // Get to know each other; discuss chapters 0 and 1
Session 2 // Discuss chapters 2 and 3
Session 3 // Discuss chapters 5 and 6
Session 4 // Discuss chapters 10 and 11
Session 5 // Discuss chapters 13, 15, and 18
Session 6 // Discuss chapters 19 and 21; throw a part-ay
Encourage members to share their insights online using the hashtag #SpeakGodBook. Tag Jonathan in any Instagram photos from the group!
